Gatlinburg is pleased to announce that the National Park Service has opened a portion of Highway 441 into Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Visitors can now reach popular hiking trails along Highway 441 from the Gatlinburg entrance to Newfound Gap. Finding your way into Gatlinburg is easy from all directions in spite of the road closure between Newfound Gap and Cherokee. Hwy 441 is still closed indefinitely between Newfound Gap and Cherokee due to the landslide. Also, keep in mind that the NPS will close Hwy 441 in bad weather due to unsafe travel conditions.

Please post and distribute the information below to frontline workers so that they can help visitors get to their desired destinations. As we receive information from the National Park Service regarding the road closure, we will assess the information and continue to keep our businesses advised of the situation.
